Testimonials

Dave, a client who was fearful of going to visit his local surgery and hospital:

The appointment was good, excellent while I was in there in fact. As soon as I met the guy and shook his hand I was fine. Both the appointments you have done me for have been the best I've had in years. Well done and thank you! Got to go back for an MRI on my brain sometime as a precaution, but he reckons its all down to bad migraines. Be interesting to see what’s in there!

Simon, a client who gave up smoking just over a year ago in January 2007 and is still going strong:

This is the story of my transition from smoker to non smoker.

I started smoking at the age of about 16 nearly thirty years ago and smoked at least 20 a day.  Over the years I have tried giving up either through will power or will power combined with patches but neither had a long lasting effect and never took the craving away.

I came to know Belinda some years ago when I was involved with The Parent Teachers Association at the school my children started at.  I had not seen Belinda since I left the PA in 1999. By chance my wife met Belinda whilst shopping last year and discovered she had re trained as a therapist.  I did nothing until January this year when after a spell of waking up wheezing and coughing I stopped at the chemist and bought some patches.

When I got home and announced what I was about to do, my wife went ballistic, telling me it was a waste of money and time. She said that I should give Belinda a call and talk about Hypnotherapy.

I know two other long term smokers who have successfully stopped after Hypnotherapy so decided to give it a go. I met with Belinda who explained the process and I have to say at the time I was somewhat sceptical. However I was pretty determined to kick the habit and set about implementing Belinda`s programme. Smoking for me was a habit and in the first week of the programme I recorded when and how much I wanted each cigarette and made changes to my routine to help me break the habit.  Having successfully prepared for my first hypnosis for a week D Day arrived. I met with Belinda and was hypnotised in the evening the next day I was very conscious of not smoking and actually found the smell from others smoking pretty horrible which surprised me.

Day one past with out a puff and not too many cravings and having drunk more water than I can ever remember drinking before.  Day two went the same way and each day I put £4.00 in a jar and ticked off a day on the calendar. By the end of the week and my next session with Belinda I was £28 better off starting to feel very pleased with myself although I have to say by this stage I was getting a little grumpy and irritable. My second seemed to sot this out  and soon after this session I was starting to forget I ever smoked and about a month after my third session I started to forget to tick off a no smoking day on  my calendar and to put  £4 in my jar.

I have not had a cigarette for four months now and can honestly say  I hardly ever think of smoking. I have been under a lot of pressure at work and had several heavy sessions in the pub when I would have smoked a lot but have not.   So I can confidently say Belinda’s hypnotherapy has enabled me to kick the habit. For me the most impressive and successful part of the therapy was that it immediately took away the little devil in the back of my mind which when I tried patches was always there and in the end won.

Thanks Belinda I now feel much healthier have more energy and more money in my pocket.

Fiona, a beautiful young woman who was very ill with an unusual stomach complaint, which affected her eating, social life and left her feeling very anxious:

When I went through a long period of physical illness last year, it had a significant impact on my physiological well being.

My ill health was stomach related and I have never been a fan of being sick so it hit me quite hard. It took a long time and many tests and analysis with various doctors, hospitals and consultants before I was diagnosed with Gastro paresis. As well as having to cope with feeling very unwell with unpleasant side effects that I was not equipped to deal with, the pressure of waiting for diagnosis and treatment had a significant impact on me. As I mentioned before, this led to me feeling very anxious, negative and depressed and at times, I despaired as to when my life would return to normal, if ever.

I was given Belinda’s contact details by a contact through my mum and gave her a call to see whether she could help me at all. She suggested a number of therapies including Hypnosis and Tapping (which is something I had only recently heard about in the media in relation to treating phobias).

My first meeting with Belinda was really about us getting to know each other and for me to give her an idea about my problems. B immediately put me at ease and I found myself opening up to her straight away which was key for her to start understanding my problems and how to solve them.

In total I had around five sessions with B and really benefited from my time spent with her and the therapies that she applied.

I think that the most effective therapy for me was Tapping as it really helped me to ‘feel’ my stress, anxiety and fear reduce as each round of Tapping is summarised by quantifying your negative feelings surrounding your fear (in my case, the anxiety and fear relating to food and vomiting).

In summary B is a lovely person and a great therapist who helped me through a very difficult time and I would recommend her therapies to anyone who is experiencing any degree of anxiety or fear and wants a relaxed and friendly approach to solving their problems.

Hannah, a seventeen year old who was very nervous about her forthcoming driving test:

I went to see Belinda because I was feeling really nervous about my forthcoming driving test.  I felt anxious and worried about how my nerves would affect me on the day.   After just one session with B, I felt so much calmer and realised that it was no longer preying on my mind constantly.  I slept really well the night before and during the test felt confident and a lot more relaxed.

Hannah passed her test!
